BitButler is a private beta. These terms describe what it does, what it does not do, and what you can expect while it is still being built.
What the service is
You text a phone number. An agent reads what you asked for, looks it up, tells you what it costs, and buys it once you say yes. The money comes from a prepaid balance you top up yourself. We never hold your card.
What it buys, and what it only prepares
Some purchases complete without you: gift cards, phone top-ups, domain names and the hosting for a page on one. Others are prepared for you and finished by you — a basket at a shop, a ride, a flight walked through. The agent will tell you which kind you are getting before you agree. If it ever does not, that is a fault and we want to hear about it.
Your balance
Your balance is yours. It is held to pay for what you ask for and nothing else. There are limits on how much can be spent in one purchase and in one day, and you set them. If a purchase fails after the balance was charged, the charge is reversed on the same ledger.
What we cannot promise during the beta
- Prices change between a quote and a purchase. A quote is held for a short time and then expires rather than being honoured at the old price.
- Shops decline orders, run out of stock, and refuse deliveries to some addresses. When that happens the money comes back, but the thing does not arrive.
- The agent can be wrong. It reads pages written for people, and pages change. Check anything that matters before you say yes.
Using it fairly
Do not use BitButler to buy anything you are not allowed to buy, to send messages on anyone else's behalf without their knowledge, or to probe the service for weaknesses without telling us. We may close an account that does.
Ending it
Text STOP and the account freezes: nothing more can be bought and we stop messaging you. Any remaining balance is returned. You can also ask us to delete everything we hold about you, and we will.
